The Indiana Historical Society has accepted my book In Spite of Everything . . . .  for the woman she loved. Eric L Mundell, Director of Printed Collections and Artifacts, will oversee its integration into the holdings of the Indiana Historical Society Library.  It is hard to express my feelings for this honor.

It took me ten years to interview, tape, and write the stories of twenty-two women's lives, women who have been together for twenty years or more. These women are PhD's, RN's, abuse counselors, teachers, accountants, principals, hair dressers, hospital administrators, homemakers, entrepreneurs, and computer network specialists. One thing brought the couple together. Each shared a desire so compelling that she left husband, or family,  risked the alienation of society, even the anger of a wrathful god to be with the woman she loved.
